EXHIBITION TOUR: WABI-SABI. JAPANESE AESTHETICS IN PHOTOGRAPHY AND CERAMICS
On 27 november 2022 Martijn van Pieterson, co-curator of the exhibition, with give us a tour of Wabi-Sabi Japanese aesthetics in photography and ceramics. He will shed light on the exhibition devoted to the Japanese concept of the beauty of imperfection. The acceptance and appreciation of the transience and imperfection play central roles and are reflected in a wide range of Japanese art forms such as in the tea ceremony, in poetry and in art. This an unique opportunity to learn more about this concept that is integrated in many Japanese art forms. After the tour we will have drinks in a venue near the museum.
Martijn van Pieterson co-founder and director IBASHO gallery in Antwerp. Ibasho is an emerging art gallery in Antwerp, Belgium focused on Japanese Visual Culture in which photography plays a paramount role.
