Andon 20
Winter 1985

EDITORIAL: Someone always ready to share his collection, knowIedge, experience and reference library, whom you could call any time of the day for some specific problem, always keenly interested in anybody's projects as well as warmly concerned with one's personal well: such man was Mr. Heinz Kaempfer. He has taught me a lot and, in the course of time, flattered me by asking my advice or opinion in certain matters. Together, we regularly enjoyed discussing Japanese art and shared an enthusiasm for its always surprising aspects and qualities. Andon too has benefitted greatly from his devoted energy and sharp analysis. It is very hard upon all of us that we will have to miss his devotion to Japanese art and the Society, his sharp insight, realism and wit. Above all, we will have to miss a very dear friend.
