EDITORIAL: Andon 98 is largely devoted to Japanese prints with an abundance of nice illustrations. After our special issue devoted to the Taishō period, Andon 98 lingers in the early 20th century with Eric van den Ing's introduction to the Creative Print (Sōsaku hanga) movement. Furthermore you will find two articles, by Nozomi Naoi and Sabine Schenk, on the iconic artist Takehisa Yumeji (1884-1934). However, Hendrick Lühl takes us back to the mid-19th century with his analysis of an album of Osaka actor prints, now in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Finally the contribution of Nicole Chiang, curator of the Museum of East Asian Art in Bath, presents some exquisite objects from the museum's small but fine Japanese collection. 

I should not fail to mention that Andon's editorial team recently welcomed two new members: print expert John Fiorillo, who will support us as a corresponding member, and Marije Jansen, junior curator of Japanese prints at the Rijksmuseum. On behalf of all of us, I would like to wish you all the very best for a healthy and prosperous Year of the Goat.
