As is tradition, the GMM will be followed by a mini symposium, "The Art of Japanese Tea Ceramics", for which we invited two ceramics experts:
- Japanologist, ceramist, and author Anne Sey will dive deeper into the visual language and history of chawan within the Japanese tea tradition.
- Lecong Zhou, curator of Asian ceramics at the Groninger Museum, will enlighten us on the exchange of tea ceramics between China and Japan, basing his lecture on examples from the collection of the Groninger Museum.
- "This lecture will be focusing on three sub-topics: Song Dynasty ceramics used in the Japanese tea ceremony, Ming and Qing porcelain exported to Japan and imitations of Chinese ceramics in Japanese tea wares."
N.B.: The GMM will be held in Dutch. Lecong Zhou's presentation, however, will be in English.
The agenda, year report and financial documents can be found on Dropbox.
